Review: Organix Kukui Oil Shampoo and Conditoner

Hello everyone,
I was recently in Walgreens drugstore and as usual I made my way to the aisle carrying beauty products and I happened upon some new organix shampoos, I immediately fell in love with the packaging. My eye wandered to the one new shampoo and conditioner that I recognized, the Kukui Oil line; along with this one there was a coconut water line, a sea salt line, and another line that had lemon in it. I told myself that I already had enough shampoo and conditioner and that I didn't need to try more. Needless to say, that didn't work because the next day I was at Walgreens again purchasing them, of course the statement on the front of the bottle attracted me to it and I couldn't shake the urge to try it (and they were on sale, buy one get 50% off!). Compliments are definitely in order for Organix bottles their new collections, they are shiny, there is even a transparent bottle in the coconut water collection. The bottles are lovely, it is just too bad that I cannot say the same for the product inside of the bottles. I was very disappointed, my hair was so dull and felt lifeless after using this product and it could have been that I did not use a deep conditioner (I wanted to get the full effect of the product). I used the shampoo and as usual I left my conditioner on for a minimum of an hour, I then rinsed out the conditioner and proceeded with my normal hairstyling (blow drying and straightening my hair). Usually if I don't feel like deep conditioning my hair and I leave my conditioner in for that long I am able to get away with it but that is not the case with this shampoo and conditioner. The results were so awful I did not want to try it with a deep conditioner and risk not being able to take it back to the store. Usually if a product doesn't work for me it is because of my hair texture (coarse and thick) but in this case I cannot recommend this to anyone because it leaves your hair looking so lifeless, so I am pretty sure this is just an all around bad product.

I will also be doing a review of this product on YouTube so go and subscribe to my page so you will know when the video is posted!

Thank you for reading and be beautiful! (^_^)

  1. I also purchased this product line. I have natural 3c/4a hair. This line is great for blow dry and flat iron styles! I give it a five stars for the shine and body you get! I get a lot of compliments every time a use it for that! Because it has 'cones' it leves your hair looking odd at first, but after the flat iron... Wow! Try it for that and review again. ;)

    1. I always blow dry and flat iron my hair after I wash it but I have such thick hair as it is that anything that makes my hair more voluminous is just a disaster! I wasn't expecting more volume with this shampoo and conditioner, I just wanted the frizz control.
